Saturn's Smallest Parade

Tedray · Teamwork & curiosity

The smallest parade in Saturn’s habitat had three walkers, one robot and a cardboard float no larger than a lunchbox.

Across the hall, another event had a long line of decorations and a big audience.

Pip looked from one to the other. “Does ours count?”

Mira asked the parade group what they liked about their plan.

Zuri liked carrying her little sunflower banner. Pip liked the soft tune. Ivo liked that everybody could see the tiny float.

“Then those sound like good reasons to keep it small,” Mira said.

They checked the route with the habitat team. It passed the garden, stopped at a comfortable bench and finished beside the refreshments table. People could join, watch quietly or keep enjoying their other activities.

Lumi had sent a drawing of the float from Sunflower Station. It showed a small home with a bright lamp and the words EVERYONE WELCOME. With Lumi’s agreement, Zuri placed the drawing on the noticeboard beside the parade time.

Noor helped secure the cardboard version to a little wheeled base. Ivo measured it three times.

“This float can pass through one doorway and almost any conversation.”

The parade began. Their quiet tune traveled only a little way. A few visitors waved. One child followed for the garden stretch, then stayed to look at flowers.

At the bench, the group stopped as promised. Pip sat beside an older visitor who liked the tune but did not want to walk.

They played it once more there.

By the time they reached refreshments, nobody had counted the audience. They had noticed faces instead.

Pip sent Lumi a picture afterward. The small float was clearly visible, with everyone close enough to enjoy it.

“Our parade counted,” he said.

Zuri folded her banner carefully. “And we didn’t need to make it bigger to find that out.”
