01 · What is this?

A request for the lender to identify held security documents and the required return/release steps.

02 · When is it useful?

Use it when the loan's repayment or settlement position is clear enough to ask about held originals and registered security.

03 · Start here

Collect the final loan record and the security-document deposit inventory before naming the papers requested.

Gather your pieces

  1. Identify the facility, actual closure/settlement status, document inventory and any known linked security.
  2. Check the applicable lender and loan category; property-document rules have a defined scope.
  3. Do not assume an NOC itself cancels every mortgage, registry entry or related charge.

REQUESTED ACTION
[Requested action]

Please confirm which original documents and security items remain in the lender's custody and where they are held. If the applicable release conditions are met, please provide the recognised collection or delivery arrangements, the authority required of the recipient and an itemised handover record.

Where a mortgage, hypothecation or other charge has been registered, please identify the separate release or satisfaction instrument and registry action that applies. Please distinguish a consent or no-dues letter from a completed registry update and provide the relevant issued document or acknowledgment where available.

If any item or charge is retained, please explain the reason and identify the facility, requirement or continuing security relied on. If a document is missing or damaged, please state the position and the applicable remedial process rather than treating the inventory as complete.

Please communicate the applicable rule or contractual process, expected handling timeline and any requirement I must complete. I do not request a release contrary to a continuing lawful restriction, nor do I treat this letter as discharging a registered charge.

Please acknowledge the request and preserve the inventory so that any eventual return can be checked item by item. Further identification or supporting records can be supplied through your verified channel.

Yours faithfully,
[Account holder / authorised requester]

Your next moves

  1. Use the lender's verified collection process and compare each original against the inventory.
  2. Obtain and check the actual release/satisfaction documents and any registry acknowledgment through the applicable process.
  3. Record any missing document or unresolved charge separately and use the lender's grievance route where needed.

Real-world check

Return of originals, lender consent, release instruments and registry updates are separate tasks. The RBI cited framework concerns applicable personal loans and covered entities; other facilities or continuing lawful liens require review. This covering letter does not discharge a charge or promise a release outcome.
